Personal Statement.
Having spent my life moving around South America, Europe, and the United States, I strongly believe that the architectural facade of a city has a direct impact on human emotion. From the dilapidating beauty of Caracas, Venezuela, to the preserved cobblestone of Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay, I experienced what it means to be apart of a community that values art and its impact on life. Later, I returned to my family's routes in the quintessential architectural city of Milan, Italy, where I solidified my lifelong fascination with design and its affect on humans. Now, I am drawn to the diverse city of Miami, Florida, where I have an opportunity to translate my unique perspectives into physical projects aimed to impact the human experiences.

In the Design & Architecture Senior High School (DASH) in Miami, I was challenged to explore my skills within design and the visual arts. After graduation, I enrolled in the 'Accademia di Belle Arti di BRERA' in Milan, Italy to study set design. This education greatly expanded my understanding of structures, mechanisms and the visual perspectives of the human eye, and complimented my architectural studies by giving me a deeper comprehension of the importance of design experiences for individuals.
While studying architecture at Miami Dade College, I worked for an interior design and construction firm where I acquired a range of knowledge in materials, dimensions and design/construction processes. Currently pursuing my degree at the University of Miami, I’ve balanced my studies with real-world experience. The skills and confidence I gained led me to open my own interior design firm called 'Tu y Yo Design.' I aspire to design projects that optimize humans' experiences of architectural spaces. I work long hours to run a full time business while in school. I work alongside architects, contractors and clients daily to design beautiful spaces, while also managing the construction process. Through my experiences, I have learned to work with an interdisciplinary team to tackle problems effectively. My aspiration is to turn 'Tu y Yo Design' into an architecture firm one day.
My life has been defined by change. Where I live and what language I speak have fluctuated. However, my lifelong dream to be an architect has been constant. The first three years of my architecture curriculum have challenged me greatly, yet they have only confirmed my desire to pursue a career in architecture. I am excited to bring my cultural insights, entrepreneurial spirit, and collaborative approach to a firm where I can contribute meaningfully to projects that shape communities and elevate the human experience.
