Visual Art
"My pieces consist of showing different realities that most people do not realize, or deny to accept; ballerina’s feet, Venezuela, and sickness. All of these themes are directly connected to my first-hand experience. They also consist of the study of my body, either through texture, and painting with much more free movements, or through prints of my body. I have a particular interest on expressing all these raw moments through texture and putting my body, energy, movement, expressions, and feelings into the piece. I believe that when I put my body into my work, it is easier to show the feelings through the marks; shape, harshness, movement, color. It is much more expressive and lets the audience get a direct feeling and have an experience with this 3D/ textured work. These are things that are difficult to look at. I want the audience to take a moment, look and face reality." - RE.
